Heartbroken Father Shares Daughter’s Haunting Final Message

The father of a 12-year-old girl and his wife, both of whom tragically lost their lives in the American Airlines crash, has opened up about the unsettling feeling he had before the disaster. His story sheds light on the heartbreaking moments that led him to suspect something was terribly wrong.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, January 29, when a PSA Airlines flight, operated by American Airlines, collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter. The crash happened just as Flight 5342 was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C. Both the helicopter and the plane plummeted into the Potomac River, scattering debris across the water. The plane was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, and tragically, no survivors have been found.

Among the victims were Andy Beyer’s wife, Justyna, 42, and their 12-year-old daughter, Brielle, a brave young girl who had previously battled and overcome cancer. The family had been returning home after Brielle participated in the U.S. Figure Skating National Development Camp, a dream she had worked tirelessly to achieve.

In an emotional interview with ABC News, Andy Beyer shared memories of his daughter, describing her as a fighter who embraced life with unmatched enthusiasm. “She was just such a fighter in everything she did,” he said. “She lived life to the fullest and was incredibly proud of her progress in figure skating. Being part of that team was one of her biggest dreams, and she made it happen.”

Andy’s unease began when he and his six-year-old son were on their way to the airport to pick up Justyna and Brielle. “When it was time for the plane to land, they hadn’t landed, and we couldn’t get text messages through,” he recalled. His concern grew as he noticed emergency vehicles rushing to the scene. A friend who worked as an air traffic controller later confirmed the devastating news of the crash.

“I didn’t have a lot of hope, unfortunately,” Andy admitted. “We had a good cry about it right then and there. Hours later, we received the official confirmation of what had happened.”

In the wake of this tragedy, a close friend of the Beyer family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to support Andy and his young son during this unimaginably difficult time. The page reads, “In a tragic turn of events, we are heartbroken to share the devastating loss of 12-year-old Brielle and her beloved mother, Justyna, who both tragically died in the recent Washington, D.C., plane crash. Their absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of family and friends, and we are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time.”

Andy’s story is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the profound impact of loss. As he grieves the unimaginable, his courage in sharing his family’s story serves as a testament to the love and strength that bind them together.
