Teen’s Vaping Habit Leads to Frightening Health Scare After Coughing Up Blood

Jayden Richardson’s vaping habit took a shocking turn when he received a devastating health diagnosis after coughing up large amounts of blood. What started as a way to fit in during his early teenage years quickly spiraled into a dangerous addiction, leading to severe consequences by the time he turned 17.

During a family vacation in Turkey last August, Jayden began experiencing chest pain, though he initially dismissed it as something minor. On the final morning of his trip, he took a puff from his vape as usual, but this time, he noticed an unusual tightness in his chest. Shortly after, he began coughing up small traces of blood. At first, he wasn’t alarmed, thinking it was nothing serious. However, as the day progressed, the situation took a terrifying turn.

After having some drinks, Jayden decided to take a swim. The moment he entered the water, his body reacted violently, and he began coughing uncontrollably. Within minutes, he was coughing up what he described as “pints of blood.” Overwhelmed by fear, he rushed to the bathroom, where the bleeding continued for nearly ten minutes. It was a horrifying experience for him, especially at such a young age.

Once back in the UK, Jayden continued to cough up blood and was immediately taken to a hospital in Birmingham. Initially, doctors suspected a stomach ulcer, possibly caused by his diet while on vacation. His mother, Elita, believed that excessive consumption of fast food, alcohol, and unhealthy snacks could have played a role.

X-rays of his lungs showed no immediate concerns, but a more detailed endoscopy revealed severe lung damage. Doctors were stunned, particularly because such extreme damage is rare in someone so young. Jayden’s medical team concluded that his excessive vaping had caused significant harm to his lungs, a diagnosis that came as a complete shock to both him and his family.

Determined to recover, Jayden quit vaping immediately and began treatment. Within a few days, the bleeding stopped, and he started to feel better. However, several months later, on his birthday, he made the mistake of using a vape again. Almost instantly, he felt the same painful sensation in his chest, followed by more coughing. This time, he knew what was coming—more blood.

Realizing the seriousness of his condition, Jayden now deeply regrets ever picking up a vape. He is currently waiting for a CT scan to assess the full extent of the damage and has sworn never to touch a vape again. Reflecting on his past choices, he wishes he could go back and warn his younger self about the dangers of vaping. He now understands just how harmful it can be and urges others to stay away before it’s too late.
