A Heartbreaking Farewell: Family Mourns the Loss of 2-Year-Old Ava

Children are the most precious gifts in our lives, and protecting them is every parent’s greatest responsibility. That’s why the tragic story of Ava Ann Marie Tabor, a vibrant 2-year-old girl from Arkansas, has left a community heartbroken and searching for answers.

Ava was born on November 28, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a joyful little girl with a radiant smile and bright blue eyes that could light up any room. Her parents, Kylie Marie Perez and Levi Landon James Tabor, adored her more than anything. Ava loved dancing, helping in the kitchen, and spreading happiness wherever she went.

But on a fateful day in early March, the Tabors’ world was shattered. Ava was under the care of 19-year-old Wesley Davis in Lockesburg, Arkansas, when something went terribly wrong. Davis reportedly called for medical help after Ava became unresponsive. Later, he allegedly confessed to beating her, leading to his arrest.

Despite the best efforts of the medical team at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ava’s injuries were too severe. On March 4, 2025, she passed away, leaving her family and community devastated.

Ava’s mother, Kylie Perez, poured her heart out in a heartfelt Facebook post, expressing her grief and anger. “The last time I held my baby… after two years of putting you to bed, making your bottles, playing with you, waking you up, saying goodbye to you, and listening to your little concerts in the car… it’s over. No more Ava kisses, no more ‘momma c’mon,’ no more baby loves… You took this from me, Wesley Davis. YOU TOOK MY WORLD. I won’t stop until you get what you deserve. AVA ANN MARIE TABOR, I love you. You’ll always be mommy’s baby. I’ll never forget you.”

Wesley Davis was initially charged with first-degree domestic battery, but after Ava’s death, the charges were upgraded to first-degree murder. A judge set his bond at $1 million and issued a no-contact order, preventing him from communicating with Ava’s family.

The case has deeply affected the community, with many expressing outrage and grief. Sheriff Robert Gentry acknowledged the emotional toll, noting that there have been threats against Davis. He urged the public to let the legal system handle the case, assuring them that justice would be served.

In a final act of love, Ava’s family chose to donate her organs, giving others a chance at life. Her funeral will be held on March 13 at Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas, with a visitation service the evening before.

Ava’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of protecting our most vulnerable. As her family prepares to say goodbye, they hold onto the memories of her bright spirit and the love she brought into their lives.
