Behind the Scenes Secrets of Little House on the Prairie

Even the most beloved shows have their share of mistakes, and Little House on the Prairie is no exception. While we all cherish the heartwarming stories of the Ingalls family, eagle-eyed fans have spotted plenty of bloopers over the years that will make you see the show in a whole new light.

One of the most noticeable errors involves Laura’s unusually long pregnancy during season seven. Viewers were left scratching their heads when she remained visibly pregnant across multiple seasons – a continuity error that even the most devoted fans couldn’t ignore. Then there’s Nellie Oleson’s famous blonde curls, which were actually a wig held in place with dozens of metal hairpins, a far cry from the simple pioneer life the show portrayed.

Perhaps the most hilarious historical inaccuracy came when Colonel Sanders made a surprise appearance in an episode set in the 1870s – despite the fact that KFC wouldn’t exist for another 80 years! The show also played fast and loose with winter clothing, often showing characters braving Minnesota winters without coats, likely because episodes were filmed during Arizona summers.
