Grieving Father Challenges School’s Decision to Let Murder Suspect Graduate

The father of a 17-year-old boy stabbed to death at a track meet is demanding answers after learning his son’s alleged killer will still receive a high school diploma. Austin Metcalf tragically lost his life during an altercation at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, where police say 18-year-old Karmelo Anthony pulled a knife during a fight over seating.

Jeffrey Metcalf, Austin’s devastated father, has filed a formal complaint with the Texas Education Agency against Centennial High School for allowing Anthony to graduate despite facing murder charges. While school officials confirmed Anthony won’t walk at the ceremony due to house arrest restrictions, the decision to grant his diploma has sparked outrage. The situation grew more painful when Metcalf attended a press conference held by Anthony’s family, where he says he was escorted out by police rather than offered condolences.
