As I sit here reflecting on the past year, my mind keeps wandering back to a trip my husband and I took to Valley of Fire State Park. It’s hard to believe it’s been 12 months since we walked hand in hand through the park’s stunning landscapes.
Unfortunately, life had other plans, and my husband is no longer with me. His passing has left a gaping hole in my life, and I still find myself thinking about him every day.

As I look back on our trip, I’m reminded of the importance of making the most of the time we have with loved ones. Life can be unpredictable, and it’s crucial to prioritize what truly matters. We never know what the future holds, and it’s easy to take our time with loved ones for granted.
I’ve learned to appreciate the time I had with my husband and to make the most of every moment. I wish I had done more, seen more, and experienced more with him. But I’m grateful for the time we had, and I hope others can learn from my experience.
Prioritizing life means different things to different people. For some, it may mean spending more time with family and friends. For others, it may mean pursuing a long-held passion or dream. Whatever it means to you, make sure you’re making time for it.
Life is short, and it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind. But it’s the moments we share with loved ones, the experiences we have, and the memories we create that truly make life worth living.
