When a good cat passed away, he found himself at the gates of heaven. God greeted him warmly. “You’ve been such a loyal cat all these years,” He said. “Anything you wish for is yours—just ask.”
The cat thought for a moment. “I spent my whole life with a poor family on a farm,” he said. “I had to sleep on hard wooden floors every night.”
God smiled. “Say no more.” In an instant, a soft, fluffy pillow appeared beneath the cat’s paws.
A few days later, six mice arrived in heaven. God offered them the same kindness. “What would make you happy?” He asked.
The mice didn’t hesitate. “We spent our whole lives running—from cats, dogs, even brooms! If only we had roller skates, we wouldn’t have to run anymore.”
“Say no more,” God replied, and suddenly, each mouse was gliding around on tiny, perfect roller skates.
A week later, God checked on the cat, who was napping peacefully on his pillow. “How are you enjoying heaven?” God asked.
The cat stretched lazily and purred. “Oh, it’s absolutely purr-fect. And those Meals on Wheels you’ve been sending? Simply delicious!”
