Michelle Obama recently peeled back the curtain on her marriage to former President Barack Obama, revealing a lighthearted agreement that’s been part of their relationship since the beginning. “We have this deal where I can tease Barack, but he can’t tease me back,” Michelle shared with a laugh. She described how she immediately shuts down any attempts from her husband to joke about her, firmly reminding him: “None of that.” The rule has become such a family tradition that when daughters Malia and Sasha join in, Barack finds himself completely outnumbered. “We gang up on him relentlessly,” Michelle admitted. “Teasing is our love language in this family.”
Beyond their playful home life, Michelle opened up about how she and Barack have navigated public scrutiny over the years. She recalled the constant criticism they faced during their White House years – from birther conspiracy theories to attacks on their patriotism. “There was a lot of negative energy coming our way,” she said. Their solution? Staying grounded by avoiding social media comment sections entirely. “I don’t think I’ve ever once looked at a comment section, period,” Michelle revealed.
