Couple Sells Everything for 15-Year World Cruise Adventure

Most people dream of traveling the world, but few take the leap quite like Lynn and Paul. The adventurous couple sold their Wyoming home, cars, and nearly all their possessions to embark on a 15-year, $1.2 million cruise around the globe.

Their new home? The Villa Vie Odyssey, a cruise ship offering the world’s first continuous world voyage. After years of shorter trips, they realized they’d barely scratched the surface of global exploration. “We’ve visited the Caribbean and Italy, but compared to younger travelers, we’d seen so little,” Lynn explained.

Their cabin cost $179,000 upfront, with monthly expenses around $6,000 covering food, laundry, and maintenance. Though the price tag is steep, they see it as an investment in lifelong adventure. “Some might call it crazy,” Paul admitted, “but to us, it’s the journey of a lifetime.”

The ship will visit over 150 countries, with Lynn most excited for the South Pacific and Paul eager to explore Iceland and England’s Abbey Road. Family can join them for free two-week stays, making the transition easier.

With no plans to return to land permanently, they’re even customizing their cabin. “This isn’t just a vacation,” Lynn said. “The whole ship is our home now.”
