Jamie Lissow spent over two decades as a working comedian, traveling from club to club, perfecting his craft. He was respected in comedy circles but far from a household name—until one fateful encounter changed everything. Now, thanks to an unexpected connection with Fox News stars Greg Gutfeld and Kat Timpf, Lissow has gone from stand-up stages to prime-time television, co-hosting his own show and winning over millions of fans in the process.
Lissow’s big break came when he started appearing regularly on Gutfeld!, Fox News’ late-night comedy show. His sharp wit and laid-back humor quickly made him a fan favorite, and his popularity skyrocketed—his Dry Bar Comedy special, Something Awesome, drew over 20 million views. But none of it would have happened without a twist of fate.

Years ago, Lissow and Gutfeld were often mistaken for each other due to their similar looks. Audience members would approach Lissow after shows, congratulating him on his “great performance”—only to realize they’d confused him with Gutfeld. The mix-up led to an introduction, and soon, Lissow was invited as a guest panelist on Red Eye, Gutfeld’s earlier show.
At the time, Lissow wasn’t particularly political. His comedy was observational, drawing from his life as a divorced dad raising three sons in Alaska. But as he spent more time on Fox News, his perspective shifted.
“I didn’t pay much attention to politics before meeting Greg,” Lissow admits. “But the more I saw, the more I realized I was on ‘Team Logic.’ The left started saying things that just didn’t make sense to me—like biological men competing in women’s sports or forcing vaccine mandates. Suddenly, if you disagreed, you were ‘canceled.’ That’s when I knew where I stood.”
Now, politics plays a bigger role in his act. “If you try to please everyone, you please no one,” he says. “Some people get mad during the last 15 minutes of my set, but that’s comedy. You’ve got to say what you think.”
His rise hasn’t slowed down. After becoming a Gutfeld! regular, Fox News gave him his own show alongside the very people who helped launch his TV career. For Lissow, it’s proof that sometimes, success comes from being in the right place at the right time—and having the talent to back it up.
